Willaim Wordsworth

Great poet, with a love of nature, my favorite is " The Butterfly". There are at least 166 poem by him available. I have a page online at www.marybrown10.googlepages.com.home with more information and links. I also have my favorite poem posted as well as a picture of him.

Great Expectations

Great Book, but very long, the story is about a boy named Pip who lives with his siter due to the rest of the family dying. Joe is not treated well by his sister, she is very abusive towards him and her husband Joe who like Pip. As Pip is growing up he begins visiting Miss. Havisham who has a beautiful daughter Estella that is very mean to Pip because he is a common boy not a gentlemen.
Pip is kind of adopted by a benefactor who wants to make Pip a gentleman, Pip falls right into the idea but it leads to an emotional ride ending up with him coming home to where it all began.

Robert Browning's " My Last Duchess"

Truely a twisted poem, did the Duke kill the Duchess or did he have her killed? What is the main point? Could it be that money has no law, if you have status and money you can do what you like.

Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein"

Great Read, Victor Frankenstein creates a creature and brings it to life, once bringing life to the creature he suddenly feels the worst feeling ever: over what he has done.

"Ode to a Nightingale"

This poem is deep, I think he referring to himself as the nightingale but he uses the nightingale to represent the side of him that is the poet. He seems to refer to himself when speaking about the old men and youth in the poem. He as a man sees all the ugliness in the world but as a poet he can rise abouve it " like a nightingale" and bring beautiful poetry to the world.

W.Wordsworth's " Micheal"

Truely great writing, a poem that makes you think as a parent and second guess your judgement. Is Micheal a loving father? I would say so, I think he is just a normal parnet who made a bad choice.

Blake's Garden of Love

Blake's Garen of love is very sad, where a beautiful garden once was now stand tomb stones and graves. The poem begins with a beautiful thought of a sweet garden then ends with his description of a grave yard with priest in black robes. The poem seems like it could have several underlying meanings, one of replacing natural beauty with this grave yard, one against religion one for freedom so many theories of what point he is trying to get across.
